Vayyar’s technology detects falls by identifying a sudden change in a person’s profile from above to below 60cm. It then verifies the fall by confirming a presence on the floor, supporting edge cases such as a slow fall from a chair or a person crawling into the coverage area of 5m x 4m.
Vayyar Care is built around the same proprietary technology used by global carmakers to prevent hot car tragedies. Care providers, nurse call system providers and connected care platform suppliers around the world use the data gathered by the solution to deliver tailored care, enable care prioritisation that eases staff workload, and cut fall-related costs.
Devices communicate over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and use a special accessory board to connect to an approved power supply. A single PSU can power one sensor (12v/1.5A or 24v/1.0A) or up to 9 devices (24v/6.0A minimum).
